Matthew Dear sta per regalarci una svolta pop senza precedenti.
Dal "Modafinil Blues"  al recente "Bad Ones" con Tegan & Sara il passo in questa direzione è evidente e pure piacevole.
E non vi è nulla di male se un artista a tutto tondo, parimenti rispettato in ambito dance che indie, voglia mettersi alla prova sul terreno piu insidioso.

Vi avevamo promesso aggiornamenti in merito al prossimo attesissimo Dj Kicks a firma Matthew Dear, ed ecco l'inedito "Wrong With Us". Ad un primo ascolto sembra di essere tornati ai tempi Asa Bread: per inciso tra i miei dischi preferiti del decennio scorso.

'Wrong With Us' came about in a frenzied session with Simian Mobile Disco at their studio in the English countryside. We started with some modular synths and went from there adding vocals, drums and other odd ends. In the end, we finished four songs in four days, and I couldn't have been happier with the results. It's a reflection on the state of the world we live in today.

Adesso ci siamo.

Dopo Daniel Avery, Marcel Dettmann, Jackmaster e Seth Troxler, bravi per carità, ma pur sempre partyboys con una carriera autorale molto limitata, sarà il dj-kicks del Caro Matteo ad inaugurare il 2017. Con più di 15 anni di carriera, cinque album e 20 ep, è esattamente il tipo di personaggio affascinante che rende la serie molto personale.

Per ora non abbiamo manco la tracklist, e giusto mezza copertina.
